Articles of Faith

Page     1     2     3

The following articles of faith, based upon the inspired Word of God and taken from the Holy Bible, constitute the doctrinal teachings of the Berea Evangelistic Church. All members and leaders of this assembly will adhere to and teach none other doctrine than that as outlined in the Articles of Faith. All officers, teachers, and leaders of this church will be expected to study and know these doctrines that we may be laborers together for the kingdom of God. (I Cor 3:9 and II Tim 2:15)

We are a full gospel, fundamental, evangelistic, Pentecostal church endeavoring to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ our Lord and to exemplify that early church that turned the world upside down and thousands found the Lord Jesus as their Saviour and Christ. (Mathew 28:19, 20; Acts 1:8)

I. The Doctrine of the Holy Scriptures

We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired, infallible and authoritative written Word of God; that it is the Way, the Truth, and the Life; that it will lead mankind from the darkness unto light, from death unto life and back into fellowship and sonship with the Heavenly Father; that men everywhere should obey and keep these holy commandments that they might inherit eternal life.
II Tim 3:16; II Peter 1:21; I John 1:1-5; Rev. 1:1-2; John 14:6; John 3:14-17

II. The Doctrine of God

There is one God, the Godhead, eternally existent in three persons (the Trinity): God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. God the Father is the creator of all things, the Father of us all. He is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and eternal. God is a spirit, has a personality, is holy, righteous, faithful, true, and is full of love and mercy for the human race. The eternal purpose of God is that sons and daughters may be born into His house.

III. The Doctrine of Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death for the sin of mankind, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of God the Father, in His personal future return to the earth in power and great glory to destroy the kingdoms of this world and to set up His kingdom to rule and reign forever.
