Solomon told us in the Book of Proverbs that a merry heart does good like a medicine!  When I was younger, I remember laughing until my sides hurt, until I could hardly breath.  That is a wonderful feeling.  I don't think I do that as often now, which is a little sad.  Sometimes we just need to practice being happy and just laugh for a while! Sounds silly, doesn't it!

I have a friend who says she must practice being thankful, even when she doesn't feel very thankful at the moment.  She will find something to be thankful for in every situation and dwell on that thought.  We need to do the same thing from time to time, and practice being happy.  Sit down and watch the Three Stooges, or Napoleon Dynamite, or whatever it is that makes you laugh.  Spend time with the craziest friend you have and just enjoy their company!

God wants us to have joy like a fountain running over.  He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly!  Don't dwell on the negatives for a second more than you have to!

Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.  Psalm 30:11-12
